It’s not like us to ever sit still. How can we? We’re too busy helping you unleash your creative juices. So, naturally that means it’s been a busy year. To keep up with us in real-time you should follow our social channels, but here’s a recap of where we’ve been and where we’re going.
Back in August, Industry Juice® joined Chicago’s finest chefs, sommeliers and mixologists for Taste of the Nation/No Kid Hungry, a remarkable night of dining in support of No Kid Hungry’s work to end childhood hunger in America. We supplied 68 bottles cold pressed juice to Bad Hunter, Broken Shaker, and GreenRiver to name of few. And we can honestly say, they created some delicious cocktails for the event!
Wellness, brunch and empowering children? Sign us up! That’s why we headed to Rise and Shine Gourmet, an event that brings a sizeable crowd to Maggie Daley Park for a Sunday morning brimming with wellness, brunch and drinks. We provided cold pressed orange and grapefruit juice for some seriously delicious brunch cocktails. While we love a mimosa, we were there because we believe in the cause! Proceeds from this event benefitted Pilot Light, a chef-founded organization whose mission is to empower all children with the knowledge, attitudes and skills they need to have healthy relationships with food. Win, win.
Fast forward to October and the fun doesn’t stop! It was our first time at the annual gathering of independently produced spirits from around the world, Indie Spirits. We were in great company surrounded by the fascinating people who are changing the landscape of backbars around the world.
Next up was Punch Kings, Grand Cochon, an event where award winning bartenders from 14 cities compete at Cochon555’s Grand Finale Spirits competition to win the crown of “King or Queen of Porc”. Punch King competitors used Industry Juice for their cocktail creations. Sound like too much fun? Let’s put it this way, it was well worth the hangover.
After that, we were deep in the heart of Texas for Austin City Limits, which meant great music, fun and of course Industry Juice! We pressed over 15 gallons of juiced and then shipped it to ACL so the folks at Tito’s could create and pour some delicious cocktails.
We had to come back up to Chicago to go south of the border. Well, not really. We were at Mexico in a Bottle, North America’s biggest, and baddest, mezcal tastings which took place on a Sunday evening at the sold out Chop Shop.
It felt like the party was just getting started, so we were off to Speed Rack to shine a light on female mixologists who are kicking ass and thriving behind bars all over the country. The all-female speed bartending competition raises money for breast cancer research, education and prevention, so naturally we were excited to get involved again this year by providing nearly 20 gallons of cold-pressed juice. The service industry can be somewhat of a boy’s club, so a competition that highlights the up and coming generation of strong women in the spirits industry is something we can definitely get behind.
